Putting is one of the hardest strategies in the game of golf. Fortunately, it's also the easiest to practice. Unlike downswings, you do not have to have hundreds of yards of wide open space to make a single shot. You can actually develop your skills in your yard, basement, or even office.

When you work to improve putting skills, it will quickly become addictive. When you routinely play in the course of your free time, it is going to be a lot easier to make a shot in a game that counts. The more you've practiced, the much more sure you will be for every swing. Listed below are a number of different drills you'll be able to employ to improve putting.

Wall Drill

This is actually by far the most favored practice strategy. Stand up straight facing a wall, continuing to keep your feet parallel. Place the putter several centimeters away from the wall, so your club will only have an inch of movement from one side. Place the ball and then take a regular swing. Check to determine if the club head moved from the wall at the time you made your backswing or if it brushed against the wall. A correct swing has the club keeping the same 1-inch wall distance throughout your entire swing.

Circle Drill

This particular drill may be done on real grass or even a carpet. Pick out a target and surround it with 8 golf balls. The very first ball needs to be placed a foot from the target. Space each of your other balls 6 inches or 1 foot from the previous one. These balls should be in a circular formation around the actual target. Start shooting using the closest ball and then progressively work your way out. Repeat this procedure once again, this time around beginning with the furthest shot. When performed frequently, this will greatly improve putting skills.

Target Practice

This technique is similar to playing darts, except the target is on the ground instead of hanging from a wall. Use a piece of paper to cut out 3 circles. The smallest circle needs to be the size of a golf hole, even while the second must be 3 times bigger. The last circle needs to be twice the size of your second circle. Assign every circle a point, with the larger targets less points and the smaller targets the largest number of points. Try to get a perfect score.

Conclusion

There are lots of different methods to practice putting approaches, and all of these are beneficial for developing your skills. Just like every other type of game, practice makes perfect with golf. If you commit to hours of training and sharpening your skills, you're sure to experience impressive results on the playing field.
